SCHEDULE
Primarily daytime weekday hours. Occasional weekend availability may be requested according to customer demand, project requirements or storm-related work.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
MFL Homes is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Helper/Trainee to join our growing Central Florida property-services team.
This is a hands-on, entry-level position for someone who wants to develop practical property-maintenance and home-improvement skills while working alongside an experienced tradesman.
Previous trade experience is helpful but not essential. We are primarily looking for someone with the right attitude: punctual, presentable, willing to learn and prepared to take pride in every job.
The successful applicant will assist with residential property maintenance, preventive upkeep, minor repairs, painting, exterior work and general job-site support. Paid on-the-job training will be provided, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and progress within the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with general residential property maintenance and minor repairs
• Help prepare work areas, materials, tools and equipment
• Assist with interior and exterior painting and preparation
• Support preventive-maintenance and Home Care Club service visits
• Carry, load and organize tools and materials
• Protect customers’ homes, landscaping and personal property while work is underway
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas
• Complete job-site cleanup and responsible waste removal
• Take clear before-and-after photographs when requested
• Follow instructions, safety procedures and company working standards
• Communicate respectfully with customers and other team members
• Report visible defects, damage or additional maintenance concerns
• Perform other reasonable property-maintenance duties according to training and ability

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation to the designated reporting location or job site
• Reliable cell phone and consistent communication
• Ability to report to work on time throughout the MFL Homes service area
• Willingness to complete any required employment screening
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active, hands-on position. Applicants must be able to perform the essential duties of the role, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
The position may involve:
• Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching
• Working outdoors in heat and changing weather conditions
• Using ladders and working at moderate heights after appropriate training
• Safely lifting and carrying tools, equipment and materials
• Wearing required personal protective equipment
• Working in occupied residential properties and exterior environments
COMPENSATION AND DEVELOPMENT
• Starting pay of $15–$21 per hour
• Starting rate determined by relevant experience and practical ability
• Paid on-the-job training
• 90-day performance and compensation review
• Opportunity to develop multi-trade property-maintenance skills
• Opportunity to progress toward a full-time Maintenance Technician position
• Additional hours and responsibilities may become available as the company grows
