FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
MFL Homes is accepting applications from experienced Property Maintenance Technicians who take pride in completing residential repairs and improvement work to a consistently high standard.
This role is suited to a capable maintenance professional, handyman or multi-trade technician who can assess everyday property issues, identify practical solutions and complete work safely and professionally.
The successful applicant should be confident working independently when required while remaining willing to follow MFL Homes procedures and quality standards. The role involves regular customer contact, so clear communication, respectful behavior and a clean, professional appearance are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete general residential property maintenance and minor repairs
• Perform painting, preparation, caulking and finishing work
• Complete basic carpentry, trim, hardware and fixture repairs
• Repair minor drywall damage and complete associated finishing
• Assist with exterior maintenance and property improvements
• Carry out preventive-maintenance and Home Care Club service visits
• Inspect reported problems and recommend practical next steps
• Accurately identify work that requires a separately licensed specialist
• Protect customers’ homes, landscaping and personal property
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas
• Take clear before-and-after photographs and maintain job records
• Provide courteous updates to customers and company management
• Use tools, materials and equipment responsibly
• Follow safety requirements and MFL Homes working standards
• Assist and guide less-experienced team members when required
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Relevant property-maintenance, handyman or multi-trade experience
• Ability to complete common residential repairs without constant supervision
• Strong practical problem-solving skills
• Good attention to detail and pride in the finished result
• Dependable attendance and timekeeping
• Professional and respectful customer communication
• Ability to explain problems and recommended solutions clearly
• Willingness to follow company processes and document completed work
• Experience in painting, carpentry, drywall repair or exterior maintenance is particularly valuable
• Supervisory or team-lead experience is helpful but not required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation to the designated reporting location or job site
• Reliable cell phone and consistent communication
• Ability to travel throughout the MFL Homes service area
• Ability to provide professional references
• Willingness to complete any required employment screening
• Personal hand tools are helpful, although requirements will be discussed according to the role
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
The position may involve:
• Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and climbing
• Working indoors and outdoors in Central Florida conditions
• Safely lifting and carrying tools, equipment and materials
• Using ladders and working at moderate heights
• Wearing required personal protective equipment
• Working in occupied homes, vacation properties and exterior environments
COMPENSATION AND DEVELOPMENT
• Starting pay of $22–$28 per hour
• Starting rate based on experience, skills and practical ability
• 90-day performance and compensation review
• Opportunity for increased responsibility as the company grows
• Potential progression to Lead Maintenance Technician or Field Supervisor
• Full-time or part-time hours may be available according to workload and performance
