FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
MFL Homes is accepting applications from dependable individuals interested in developing a professional career in roofing.
The Roofing Helper will work alongside experienced roofing professionals and assist with job-site preparation, material handling, installation support, repairs and cleanup. This is a physically active role requiring careful attention to safety, instructions and property protection.
Previous roofing or construction experience is helpful but not essential. Paid on-the-job training will be provided to applicants who demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with preparing roofing job sites and protecting customers’ property
• Load, unload, carry and organize roofing tools and materials
• Assist experienced roofers during installation and repair work
• Prepare materials and maintain an efficient work area
• Support removal and responsible disposal of roofing materials
• Keep roofs, grounds, driveways and work areas clean and organized
• Assist with installing underlayment, shingles and roofing components after appropriate training
• Follow instructions from crew leaders and experienced technicians
• Inspect tools and equipment before use
• Follow fall-protection and job-site safety requirements
• Report damaged materials, unsafe conditions or property concerns immediately
• Take before-and-after photographs when requested
• Communicate respectfully with customers and other team members
• Perform other reasonable roofing-support duties according to training and ability

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation to the designated reporting location or job site
• Reliable cell phone and consistent communication
• Ability to travel throughout the MFL Homes service area
• Willingness to complete required safety training
• Willingness to complete any required employment screening
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
The position may involve:
• Working on sloped and low-slope roofs
• Climbing ladders and working at height
• Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching
• Safely lifting and carrying roofing tools and materials
• Working outdoors in heat, humidity and changing weather conditions
• Wearing fall-protection equipment and required personal protective equipment
• Working around noise, dust, debris and active construction areas
COMPENSATION AND DEVELOPMENT
• Starting pay of $15–$21 per hour
• Starting rate based on relevant experience and demonstrated ability
• Paid on-the-job training
• Required job-site and safety training
• 90-day performance and compensation review
• Opportunity to develop roofing installation and repair skills
• Potential progression to Roofing Technician
• Additional hours and responsibilities may become available as the roofing operation grows
